WHY WE STARTED

Why We Started
BAR Therapies was built on a simple truth:
Floppy friends need floppy things.
™
Those things do not always fit neatly inside traditional medical boxes
Too many people are living with complex, confusing symptoms without the language to explain what's happening in their own bodies. Too many providers genuinely want to help, but were never formally taught how to recognize the patterns.
In that gap between symptoms and understanding, people fall through the cracks every single day.
We think there is a better way.
Not by choosing one side, but by bringing both together.

What We Do
BAR Therapies is not just an idea. It is a place.
™
We are a physical therapy clinic that treats hypermobility with the nuance it actually requires.
Not just joints. Not just symptoms. The full picture.
Our approach is built on listening first.
Understanding how each body moves, adapts, and compensates.
Hypermobility is not just about flexibility.
It is about how systems interact. How fatigue builds. How stability is created over time.
This is where patients begin to connect what they feel with what is happening.
This is where providers refine how they treat what they were not fully taught.
The clinic is not separate from the mission.
It is where the mission is practiced every day.
What We're Working Towards
We are building a future where hypermobility is understood, not overlooked.
A future where providers feel confident in treating the full picture, not just the parts that are easiest to name.
A future where patients can describe what is happening in their bodies without second guessing themselves.
Because when patients have language and providers have knowledge, something powerful happens.
The gap gets smaller. Care gets better. People feel seen.
Our Goals
Expand Clinical Capacity
Grow the BAR Therapies clinical team so more floppy friends can access hypermobility-informed care.
Foster Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Improve communication and collaboration between providers treating hypermobility-related conditions
Hypermobility Cirriculum
By 2030, 10 healthcare programs will integrate meaningful hypermobility education into their curriculum. We will help drive this shift by partnering with professional programs and supporting educators.
Launch Beyond Flexible Clinical Virtual Series
Expand access to foundational hypermobility education for clinicians who want to learn more. Learning should not be limited by geography, and curiosity should not be limited by access.
Publish A Monthly Floppy File
Create approachable patient education that helps floppy friends better understand their bodies and symptoms in everyday language.
How Do We Get There?
We do not do this alone.
This work grows through community. Through shared resources. Through people who care to pass information along.
The simplest way to help is also the most powerful.
Follow. Like. Comment. Share.
Every interaction helps push this information a little further.
Into the hands of a provider who has been looking for answers.
Into the mind of a person with hypermobility who finally finds the words for what they are feeling.
This is how awareness spreads.
Not all at once, but steadily, person by person.
The Bigger Picture
This is about more than education.
It is about connection.
It is about clarity.
It is about building a bridge between patients and the people trying to care for them.
And bridges are not built by one person.
They are built by communities who decide people are worth showing up for.
So this is bigger than a clinic.
Bigger than a course.
Bigger than one provider.
This is a movement toward better care, better language, and a future where fewer people fall through the cracks.
If you are here, you are already part of building that future.
